5 THINGS YOUR SNOW PLOW COMPANY DOES NOT WANT YOU TO KNOW

1. THEY ARE TOO SMALL– Snow plow companies with FEW TRUCKS leave your company with little insurance. When a big snow storm hits, it may be next to impossible to service all their properties, this is because the more it snows the more likely it is for trucks to break down. With FEW TRUCKS, it means BIG PROBLEMS for them and for your business.  I understand that all companies start out small, but why do you want to take that chance with your business?

2. LITTLE EXPERIENCE– Snow plowing is  seasonal work, and most snow plow drivers work 200 hours or less in the winter. Because of this, employee turn over year after year is very high.  This leaves most companies needing to HIRE many new and young EMPLOYEES each year with LITTLE or no plowing EXPERIENCE.  Would you hire so many employees with no experience and entrust them to keep your business open?

3. OVER LOADED WITH WORK-Most plow companies are concerned with volume.  They see $ signs and not a  lasting new customer.  This leaves their trucks over loaded with work during bigger snow storms.  They know it’s not hard to replace customers, their CUSTOMER TURN OVER RATE may be as high as 40% year after year.  Would you want a company like this working for you?

4. 1 IN A 100-Some plow companies have 100’S OF CUSTOMERS this may mean YOURNOT A PRIORITY.  No matter what, your building is only plowed as a good as the driver plowing it. With 100’S of customer you need a lot of plow drivers and from experience a good driver is hard to find. Do you want to be just another number?

5. (OLD) UNRELIABLE EQUIPMENT-Snow plow trucks in our area work between 18-24 times a year. OLDER EQUIPMENT is not always the problem but is a factor.  However any plow and salting equipment that sits unused all summer waiting for the winter is more LIKELY TO BREAK DOWN. Would you want unreliable equipment working for you?
